JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Contracts Sr. Specialist supporting Special Programs responsibilities include supporting the full lifecycle of government contract administration from development to closeout; including but not limited to interfacing with potential and current customers, submitting proposals, reviewing proposed terms and conditions, negotiating agreements, monitoring performance and closing out agreements. Applicant should have a keen interest in Government Contracts, deep familiarity with the DFAR/FAR, superior communication skills, and the ability to develop recommendations to senior staff to support solutions to problems of moderate complexity. This role can also be based out of Reston, VA or St. Pete, FL. 

  Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the collaboration, preparation and submission of compliant proposals, to include reviewing content, pricing structure, IP assertions and providing Reps & Certs.
  • Support negotiations for agreements of moderate complexity, such as commercial and government contracts or grants, evaluation agreements, and material transfer agreements.
  • Identify terms and conditions that deviate from company policy. Support senior CSPP and legal staff in developing and presenting risk mitigation. approaches/recommendations to senior management.
  • Create and manage assigned agreements in the system of record and other repositories.
  • Ability to interpret contracts to ensure conformance with agreement terms and company policy while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor performance and collect documentation for the satisfaction of agreement requirements.
  • Complete invention disclosures, data rights assertions and other forms required by agreements.
  • Assist with reporting data and compiling audit information as required.
  • Serve as the customer interface for assigned agreements during the full life-cycle of a program. Research issues and provide recommendations for resolution.

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience; experience in an Intellectual Property-intensive environment.
  • TS/SCI + poly preferred.
  • Solid demonstrable knowledge of DFARS and FAR.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of contract types.
  • Knowledge of both government and commercial contracting processes and considerations.
  • Able to handle multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to quickly understand processes and ensure adherence.
  • Must be able to deploy a systematic approach to work, and must have an aptitude for performing work functions in a timely and well organized manner with limited oversight.
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills with the ability to persuade, convince and motivate.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
