Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Data & Model Engineer to join their team. In this role you will support key data-driven initiatives and project deliverables for multiple high-priority projects. If you are a proactive, hands-on engineer with a solid understanding of Business Intelligence (BI), data modeling, and ETL development, this is a fantastic opportunity to apply your expertise and make an impactful contribution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver solutions for multiple projects.
- Develop and implement star schema models and dimension modeling techniques to optimize the data warehouse and reporting systems.
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of ETL processes, ensuring the smooth flow of data across systems.
- Work closely with business process owners, developers, and architects to understand requirements, design solutions, and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Apply best practices for data governance, reporting techniques, relational structures, and BI processes to ensure accurate, consistent, and reliable data.
- Maintain clear and open communication with team members and stakeholders, providing updates on project progress and technical challenges as needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to data integration, ETL processes, and reporting systems.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 6-7 years of professional experience in data engineering, BI development, and ETL processes.
- Strong experience with BI tools and technologies, especially Business Objects Data Services and Oracle Database.
- Proficiency in SQL and data query optimization techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of data modeling techniques, including star schema and dimension modeling.
- Strong experience with relational database structures and data warehousing concepts.
- Deep understanding of BI best practices, reporting techniques, and data governance.
- Experience in developing and supporting applied business rules for CRM and BI systems.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including business process owners, developers, and architects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying solutions.
- Experience with cloud-based data solutions (i.e., AWS, Azure, etc.) is a plus.
- Familiarity with legacy data platforms and data migration efforts is preferred.
