Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Lead the design and detailed documentation of system architecture to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
- Conduct detailed electrical analysis, design, and schematic capture to meet project requirements.
- Collaborate with ECAD resources to manage PCB layout design, ensuring high-quality and efficient designs without performing the layout yourself.
- Bring prototypes up and perform debugging to validate design performance.
- Ensure all systems and components meet functional specifications through thorough verification processes.
- Characterize system performance to optimize designs and meet project milestones.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s degree is preferred).
- Minimum of 7 years of overall experience in electrical engineering.
- Strong fundamentals in electrical engineering, with robust analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Proven experience designing PCBs that integrate commercial state-of-the-art processors, FPGAs, and Systems on Chip (SoCs) (i.e., Xilinx Virtex, Zync, Ultrascale, Microsemi Smartfusion, and PolarFire), and Intel Stratix 10 devices.
- Knowledge in designing power distribution networks for advanced processors and FPGAs, including simulation and verification using tools (i.e., Ansys SIwave).
- Experience with high-speed communication and memory interfaces (i.e., PCIe, Ethernet, and DDR3/4) and the ability to develop layout guidelines, ensuring signal integrity using tools such as HyperLynx.
- Familiarity with system integration, processor selection, analog integration, sensor design, and data acquisition is crucial.
- Understanding of grounding, shielding, and EMI mitigation techniques for complex sensor and actuator systems.
- A low-level understanding of programming languages such as C and VHDL is desirable for comprehending the functionality of FPGAs, SoCs, or processors used in your designs.
- Due to the nature of the work, an active Secret clearance is strongly preferred. Strong candidates without an active clearance will be considered but must be able to obtain a secret clearance upon starting this role.
