Position: Senior Software Engineer (Autonomous Vehicles)
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)
Length: 6 months

Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Software Engineer to join a cutting-edge team focused on autonomous vehicle systems. The successful candidates will play a key role in developing and maintaining the software infrastructure that supports the verification and validation of software for automated trucks, contributing to the safety, motion control, communications, and cloud capabilities that power their next-generation systems.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
  • Design, develop, and maintain software that deploys and controls multiple HiL test benches.
  • Participate in roadmap discussions to align software and hardware capabilities and plan software releases and deployments.
  • Lead the execution of full software development lifecycle activities, including design, development, testing, and deployment, using C++ and Python in an Agile Linux environment.
  • Mentor junior team members and provide guidance on best practices in software engineering.
  • Work closely with hardware engineers and other stakeholders to understand requirements and develop software architecture that meets project goals.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and provide solutions during design, prototype, and production phases, performing root cause analysis and resolving issues effectively.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation for software components, architectures, and processes.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field with 5+ years of relevant experience, OR a Master’s degree with 4+ years of experience.
  • Strong proficiency in C++ and Python programming.
  • Experience in building and deploying Python wheels and utilizing Docker for self-contained solution deployment.
  • Expertise in software architecture, design, and testing from scratch.
  • Knowledge of Agile software development practices in a Linux-based environment.
  • Proven ability to mentor and guide less experienced software developers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in software engineering with a focus on robotics, automation, or embedded systems.
