Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join their dynamic team and act as a strategic finance business partner across multiple departments. This role will offer the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and FP&A management, driving financial analysis and supporting key organizational objectives. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Serve as a dedicated finance business partner to various departments, assisting with the development of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Provide actionable recommendations that support organizational goals and improve departmental insights through financial reporting and analysis, with guidance from FP&A management.
- Collect and analyze capital budget requests, evaluate ROI, prioritize projects, and present recommendations to senior management.
- Track and update actual spending against forecasts.
- Develop and maintain consistent financial reporting for senior and executive leadership, continuously improving processes to enhance decision-making and performance.
- Support the month-end close process by ensuring data integrity and performing transactional research, providing guidance to less experienced analysts as needed.
- Take ownership of ad-hoc analyses and projects, gathering data from various sources, formulating hypotheses, and presenting findings to both FP&A and operational management.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial planning, budgeting, and analysis.
- Strong Excel skills with hands-on experience in financial modeling and analysis, and proficiency with financial tools (i.e., Adaptive, Tableau, PeopleSoft, and Data Warehouse).
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a team environment, with a high level of accuracy and flexibility to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven atmosphere.
- Proven experience as a finance business partner within a matrixed organization.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration or other advanced degree in a related field is preferred.
- Experience working with a DoD contractor is preferred.
- Demonstrated success working in highly matrixed environments is a plus.
