Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior IT DevOps Engineer to join their dynamic and innovative team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in optimizing software and OS systems, deploying infrastructure, and enhancing automation processes. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background in coding, deployment, and infrastructure management, with a passion for collaboration and continuous improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Develop and maintain code and scripts to automate and optimize infrastructure deployment, configuration, and maintenance processes.
- Oversee and manage the deployment of software/OS across multiple environments, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
- Create and maintain robust monitoring systems to guarantee application performance and system availability.
- Manage and enhance on-premises and cloud infrastructure, with a primary focus on AWS and Azure environments.
- Troubleshoot software/OS infrastructure issues and collaborate with the team to identify and implement solutions.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies and industry trends, leveraging this knowledge to enhance infrastructure capabilities.
- Work collaboratively with developers, QA engineers, security teams, and IT professionals to ensure smooth management and automation of software/OS systems.
- Provide guidance on aligning activities with information systems and assist in troubleshooting system issues.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a DevOps or similar role.
- Strong understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Solid understanding of software development processes, methodologies, and security fundamentals.
- Experience with continuous integration and delivery tools (i.e., Ansible or Semaphore).
- Expertise in managing on-premises and cloud infrastructures, especially AWS and Azure.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language (i.e., Bash, Python, or PowerShell); familiarity with Terraform is a plus.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, PRTG, and ELK stack is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for effective teamwork.
- VMware and AWS experience is required (Azure, PURE, and TrueNAS are a plus).
- Familiarity with HPE Synergy OneView is a plus.
- Familiarity with automation workflows and software optimization processes is desired.
- Expertise in monitoring systems to ensure optimal software/OS performance and availability is preferred.
- A proactive, self-motivated attitude toward problem-solving and system improvement is strongly desired.
