Job Description:
Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Network Security Engineer to join their team. This role is crucial for ensuring the security and resilience of the network infrastructure. As a key member of the security team, you will advise on and guide secure network design, oversee the implementation of best practices, and support incident response efforts. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of firewalls, SD-WAN technologies, cloud-based security solutions, and global network security design, with a focus on risk mitigation and resilience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Advise on and enforce secure network design principles, ensuring alignment with security best practices across the global enterprise network.
- Collaborate with network and security teams to implement firewalls, access controls, segmentation, and secure network changes that meet compliance and risk management requirements.
- Lead network security incident response efforts, working with SOC and incident response teams to contain and mitigate threats.
- Conduct network risk assessments, security audits, and vulnerability management for network components, ensuring resilient and secure infrastructure.
- Guide the implementation of SD-WAN, cloud-based firewalls, secure remote access solutions, and Zero Trust principles.
- Develop and maintain security policies, documentation, and incident response playbooks, providing expertise on compliance and security initiatives.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in network security engineering, with a focus on securing enterprise or global networks.
- Strong knowledge of firewall security, network access controls, and segmentation strategies.
- Proven experience with SD-WAN security models and secure network architecture.
- Familiarity with cloud-based firewall solutions (i.e., Zscaler, Netskope, and Cloudflare) and cloud network security.
- Expertise in incident response for network security events.
- Experience with IDS/IPS, VPN security, and Network Access Control (NAC) solutions.
- Strong ability to assess network security risks and recommend effective mitigation strategies.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts in business terms.
- Experience using SIEM tools and network security monitoring solutions.
- A proactive approach to identifying and solving security risks.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in a high-pressure environment.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNP Security, PCNSE, or NSE4 are highly desirable.
