Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Plant Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting manufacturing operations, equipment troubleshooting, and the execution of key engineering projects to drive process improvements and ensure equipment reliability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Develop a strong technical understanding of manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Provide expertise in resolving major equipment breakdowns and quality issues within production areas.
- Support the design and operation of process equipment across various departments.
- Conduct troubleshooting and technical analyses of manufacturing equipment and processes, including PI data analysis, CIP/SIP circuit review, MOC analyses, flow path analyses, and more.
- Plan and execute plant projects focused on equipment modifications and process enhancements.
- Support the commissioning of new equipment and systems, including installation, operation, CIP/SIP, and wet testing, under the guidance of a supervisor.
- Review and revise engineering and manufacturing SOPs, work instructions, and maintenance procedures as needed, especially following CAPA, equipment/process changes, or error prevention activities.
- Complete engineering review and approval of batch records.
- Initiate EDCRs for updates to engineering documentation, including engineering drawings.
- Author commissioning protocols for installation, operation, CIP/SIP, and wet testing activities.
- Support the investigation and implementation of process, equipment, and automation design changes related to first-run customer production at scale.
- Manage changes driven through WorkFront and own or influence changes driven by change controls.
- Coordinate and support the planning and execution of various CAPEX projects.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, automation, and site contractors, to ensure alignment on project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
- Maintain a focus on project scope, schedule, and budget management throughout the life cycle of each project.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field (Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering preferred).
- Proven experience in manufacturing plant engineering, with a strong understanding of manufacturing equipment and process optimization.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting techniques and technical analysis tools (i.e., PI data analysis, CIP/SIP reviews, flow path analysis).
- Experience with commissioning protocols, including installation, operation, and wet testing of equipment.
- Strong project management skills, with experience managing CAPEX projects and cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
