Job Description:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Analog Electronics Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing, specifying, developing, and testing analog electronics across a broad range of applications. This includes analog front-end systems, signal conditioning, analog-to-digital conversion, precision feedback systems, and DC/DC conversion. The Senior Analog Electronics Engineer will work on a variety of projects, contributing from the initial planning phase through to the development and testing of hardware systems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Design, develop, and test analog electronics for various applications, including amplifiers, LDOs, comparators, mixers, and phase-locked loops.
- Optimize designs for low noise, high performance, and efficiency (size, weight, and power).
- Create technical specifications and oversee the development and production of new products.
- Analyze hardware configurations and ensure compliance with specifications through rigorous testing.
- Develop solutions for complex technical problems, particularly when customer requirements are unclear or evolving.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in analog electronics and provide advanced design guidance.
- Contribute to business development, proposals, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Manage multi-disciplinary tasks and coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals.
- Mentor junior engineers, document best practices, and improve engineering processes.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication throughout project lifecycles.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required (Master’s degree is preferred).
- 5-7 years of hands-on experience in analog circuit design or a closely related field.
- Strong knowledge in at least one of the following areas: low-noise electronics, analog-to-digital conversion, synchronous detection methods, analog and digital signal processing, phase-locked loops, high-speed and precision amplifiers, discrete transistor-level design.
- Proficiency in designing, troubleshooting, and optimizing analog electronics.
- Experienced in schematic capture and printed circuit board (PCB) layout.
- Competent in circuit simulation using tools like Spice or similar.
- Experience with system modeling and analysis using MATLAB, Simulink, or other comparable tools.
- Solid understanding of applied mathematics and physics in relation to electronics.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write clear and comprehensive documentation.
- Ability to effectively collaborate in a team environment and lead technical discussions.
- Active security clearance is strongly preferred. Candidates without an active clearance must be able to obtain a secret clearance upon starting this position.
