Job Description:
Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Project Manager to oversee and manage the operational aspects of high-visibility and complex projects in the areas of Cybersecurity and Operations. This position will serve as a liaison between various teams, including project management, planning, line management, and stakeholders, ensuring the successful execution of critical projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, particularly in Cybersecurity or related fields, and will be responsible for driving project success from inception to closeout.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage multiple high-risk, high-visibility Cybersecurity and Operational projects, collaborating with internal teams and various divisions to ensure timely and successful project execution.
- Develop and maintain project charters, plans, schedules, and communications strategies.
- Create and update risk and issue logs to ensure proactive management.
- Drive the project team to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks, ensuring the delivery of projects within scope, time, and budget.
- Provide regular project status updates to stakeholders, management, and senior leadership teams, ensuring transparency and alignment on progress and challenges.
- Provide direction to cross-functional teams, ensuring project feasibility, development of business cases, establishment of priorities, and effective resource utilization.
- Drive project closeout with a clear operationalization plan, ensuring that all deliverables meet client-satisfaction and productivity goals.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), teams, and departments to implement a Continuous Improvement model for project execution.
- Manage the development of key project documentation, such as project charters, communications plans, requirements metrics, and other critical documents.
- Apply strategic project management methodologies (i.e., Waterfall, Agile) and SPMO practices to ensure the alignment of project activities with organizational standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in project management, with a demonstrated ability to manage complex projects.
- 2-3 years of experience in one of the following areas: Cybersecurity, DoD, or similar government-related industries.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working in a Project Management Office (PMO).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Project, Excel, and PowerPoint for reporting and presentations.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment and manage relationships across diverse teams.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
- Experience in change management processes and methodologies is a plus.
- Business analysis experience is a plus.
- Due to the nature of the work, an Interim clearance is required, however the candidate will need to obtain a Secret clearance (active Secret clearance is a plus).
