Job Description:
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Communications Analyst to support strategic communications system initiatives. This role focuses on the systems engineering and acquisition lifecycle for advanced Very Low Frequency (VLF) communication systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical acumen, deep acquisition knowledge, and a proven track record in systems engineering within classified environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Apply comprehensive systems engineering principles to support complex acquisition efforts for communications systems.
- Lead and participate in reviews of program portfolios to assess plans, recommend enhancements, and improve systems engineering processes.
- Conduct design and test assessments to ensure subsystem and system performance meets defined specifications.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system and subsystem specifications and requirements.
- Support proposal development, source selection activities, and risk management planning.
- Deliver clear and effective technical briefings and management reports to stakeholders.
- Participate in the development of test strategies and validation procedures to ensure reliable system performance.
- Offer expert input into program engineering strategies across the full system lifecycle—from development and integration to deployment and sustainment.
- Support risk management and systems engineering processes in accordance with established standards and methodologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field (additional experience may be substituted for degree requirements).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in systems engineering, particularly in defense or communications systems.
- Demonstrated experience with acquisition processes, requirements generation, and RFP development.
- Proven expertise in source selection, technical proposal review, and risk management practices.
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles applied to communications systems, including VLF systems.
- Solid understanding of application software, operating systems, networking, and system architecture.
- Experience with the full System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Skilled in process modeling, workflow design, and trade space analysis including MODA and set-based design.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including technical presentation capabilities.
- Ability to present complex technical data to diverse audiences using diagrams and other visual tools.
- Familiarity with Air Force SEAM processes, strong strategic and tactical project management capabilities, and experience supporting government or military acquisition programs is preferred.
- Due to the nature of the work, an active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required.
