Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced MRP Buyer to support procurement operations. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong understanding of material planning, data integrity, and supplier coordination. As an MRP Buyer, you will be responsible for executing system-generated purchase orders, managing planning parameters, and ensuring data accuracy across ERP and planning systems. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including Demand Planning, Inventory Management, and Sourcing—to drive optimal inventory levels and ensure timely product availability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Execute MRP-generated purchase orders for components and finished goods.
- Monitor and respond to MRP exception messages such as reschedules, expedites, and cancellations.
- Escalate supply constraints and delivery issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate planning parameters, including lead times, order quantities, and safety stock levels.
- Audit and update master data regularly to align with supplier performance.
- Ensure planning systems (ERP and APS) reflect accurate supply logic and real-world execution.
- Identify and correct data discrepancies that impact MRP reliability.
- Track inventory performance and address excess, aging, or stockout risks proactively.
- Conduct root cause analysis for service misses and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Customer Service, Demand Planning, and Sourcing.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in planning processes and data governance.
- Prioritize actions that improve service and ensure product availability for customers.
- Communicate supply status and risks clearly to internal stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain, or related field (or in another discipline with APICS certification).
- APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) strongly preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant supply chain or procurement experience.
- Proficient in MRP and DRP systems; Anaplan experience is a plus.
- Understanding of Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and act on complex data.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Power BI.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
