Our client is seeking a Hardware Engineering Manager to lead the design and development of complex precision hardware systems. This role involves managing a multidisciplinary team, overseeing the full hardware lifecycle, and driving technical excellence in a fast-paced, innovation-focused environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in capital equipment or advanced hardware systems, with a passion for leading high-performing engineering teams and delivering high-quality products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Lead and mentor a team of hardware engineers in the design and development of advanced hardware systems.
- Manage all phases of the hardware development process, including conceptual design, prototyping, testing, and transition to production.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software, mechanical engineering, and manufacturing to ensure cohesive product integration.
- Ensure projects meet quality, performance, cost, and delivery objectives.
- Identify and manage technical risks throughout the development cycle.
- Foster a team culture focused on innovation, technical growth, and continuous improvement.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and incorporate relevant advancements into hardware designs.
- Support the evolution and optimization of engineering best practices and development processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (advanced degrees or certifications are a plus).
- Extensive experience in hardware engineering, particularly within capital equipment, advanced manufacturing, or related sectors.
- Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams or complex hardware projects.
- Strong knowledge of hardware design, testing procedures, and production methodologies.
- Familiarity with precision hardware or electromechanical systems is preferred.
- Proficient with industry-standard hardware design tools (e.g., CAD, simulation software).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
