Job Description:
The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for coordinating purchases for the company including supplies, inventory products, raw materials and services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage supplier and vendor relationships
- Maintain records of goods ordered and received
- Locate vendors of materials, equipment and supplies, and determine availability, terms of sales, costing and other key product information.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement
- Experience working within ERP systems
- Understanding of Sage system
- Strong sourcing capabilities, including the ability to research suppliers, obtain multiple quotes, and evaluate options—not just process purchase orders
- Highly organized and process-oriented, with a focus on improving efficiency and challenging existing workflows when needed
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
