Job Description:
Our client is looking for a Test Engineer to develop procedures, methods, and tools for test, verification, and certification of products. The Test Engineer will validate testing activities and results of manufacturing equipment and/or hardware. The Test Engineer will participate in design verification of new equipment or hardware. The Test Engineer will participate in preparing product compliance documentation. The Test Engineer will develop procedures and tools for testing, calibration, and verification of the equipment. The Test Engineer will ensure the equipment is properly tested, calibrated, and certified according to the corresponding procedures. The Test Engineer will ensure accurate documentation, records, and archives of measurement data pertaining to product. The Test Engineer will be responsible for testing parameters and process control performance.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Engineering discipline.
  • Experience with test planning and execution for field experiments involving complexity (i.e., mobile platforms, RF systems, networks, and computer infrastructure).
  • Experience with software-based test automation and scripting of test execution, data capture, and analysis.
  • Familiarity with Linux and Windows environments.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages and building systems (i.e., bash shell and CMake).
  • Experience with electrical, electronic, high power RF systems, and workspace safety procedures including job safety supervision.
  • Experience with configuring and integrating navigation systems (i.e., INS and GPS).
  • Familiarity with RF spectrum and basic propagation theory (i.e., waveforms, bandwidth, frequency standards, and frequency allocation).
  • Familiarity with radar and communications theory (i.e., power, cross-section, timing, waveforms, spectrum, and detection).
  • Experience developing specifications for parts and subsystems for test infrastructure (i.e., enclosure design including power systems, cooling, I/O, switches and simple digital interfaces, rack-level support systems including switches, routers, KVMs, monitors, and keyboards, component-level RF design including attenuators, splitters, combiners, and circulators).
  • Experience determining SWAP, power distribution, and heating and cooling requirements for systems under test.
  • Ability to create presentation material and briefings as necessary.
  • Experience with flight test planning (i.e., air traffic control, restricted areas, radio comms, and pilot-speak) is preferred.
  • Has or ability to obtain a Class III flight physical and AF Physiological training is preferred.
  • Experience with DoD security and classification issues related to experimentation and computing environments is preferred.
  • Experience with cryptographic and key loading systems is preferred.
  • Experience with UAS operation and control is preferred.
  • Familiarity with common test equipment (i.e., o-scope, spectrum analyzer, signal sources, power supplies, etc.) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with some trades and shopwork (i.e., wiring, metal fab, soldering, and assembly) is preferred.
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 5% of the time.
  • Due to the nature of the work, an Interim clearance is required, however an active Secret clearance is highly preferred.
