Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join a dynamic team responsible for designing, developing, and testing cutting-edge electrical systems and equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and test electrical devices, systems, and equipment, including communications systems, power generators, motors, navigation systems, and electrical systems for automotive and aerospace applications.
- Oversee the manufacturing process of electrical components and systems, ensuring adherence to design specifications, safety standards, and industry codes.
- Apply electrical power in new and innovative ways to develop or improve products, performing detailed calculations to define manufacturing, construction, and installation standards.
- Direct the manufacturing, installation, and testing of electrical equipment to ensure products meet customer specifications and regulatory standards.
- Analyze customer needs to determine system requirements, capacity, and costs, developing system plans that align with these needs.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure that production projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standard of quality.
- Develop and implement maintenance and testing procedures for electronic components, subsystems, and systems.
- Evaluate and recommend solutions to customers or public complaints, providing troubleshooting expertise when necessary.
- Inspect electronic equipment, instruments, and systems to verify that they meet safety standards and relevant regulations.
- Assist in defining, describing, and implementing program deliverables and system functionalities, specifically for space-bound or high-reliability systems.
- Develop electronic components, software, and systems for a wide range of applications, including commercial, industrial, medical, military, or scientific.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required (Master’s degree is preferred).
- Proven experience with high-reliability systems in aerospace, medical, nuclear, or similar industries.
- Expertise in circuit development for power conversion and distribution.
- Experience with systems interconnect and integration design, including system grounding and signal integrity requirements.
- Strong knowledge of EMC requirements (i.e., MIL-STD-461) and the ability to develop associated design requirements from board-level to system-level.
- Proficiency with circuit analysis tools such as SPICE/PSPICE.
- Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation, including oscilloscopes, function generators, meters, spectrum analyzers, and frequency counters.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and contribute to multidisciplinary project efforts.
- Experience with radiation-hardened systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with embedded systems development, including C and/or assembly language programming for hard real-time applications is preferred.
- Comprehensive experience with all aspects of electronic circuit design, including schematic entry using Mentor Graphics tools, board layout, parts selection, debugging, and documentation is strongly preferred.
- Strong background in test planning and execution for components, subsystems, and systems is preferred.
- Due to the nature of the work, an Interim clearance is required, however the candidate will need to obtain a Top-Secret clearance (active Top-Secret clearance is a plus).
